Bass Phillip ‘Old Cellar’ Pinot Noir
RM325.0
Vibrant colour, complex nose of stone fruits and earth. Rolls into a fresh, lighter-weighted pinot with firm acid. Great food wine. Very dry astringent grip at the finish. After 1-2 hours, it develop well with flavour power immediately hits your palate on tasting: this carries through to the finish. Not highly complex but mouthfilling enough. Slightly funky and ‘natural’, this is a good flavour hit for which detailed fruit descriptors don’t apply.

Description
Bass Phillip is one of the most revered Pinot Noir producers in Australia – and the world. The Bass Phillip vineyards were first established in the southeaster corner of Australia in 1979, specialising in high-quality pinot noir and chardonnay wines, by owner and winemaker Philip Jones. Only about 1,500 cases of wine are produced each vintage, making the wines extremely rare and sought-after. Bass Phillip is named after George Bass and Arthur Phillip – men of great pioneering spirit, foresight and leadership during the nineteenth century.
Winemaking at Bass Phillip is uncompromising and driven by the respect for nature. The vineyards have been organic since 1993 and biodynamic since 2002. All wine production processes at Bass Phillip are guided by the cosmic rhythms that impart energy and vibrancy into the wines.
