The Camus Cognac Cuvee 3.140 Masterpiece Collection is a strictly limited edition of 950 numbered Baccarat crystal decanters. Enriched by the passion of five generations of Cognac masters-each inspired as much by the cultivation of the grape and its distillation as by aesthetics and art-Camus has created yet another exceptional Cognac. Thanks to its artistic, technical and creative qualities, not to mention its continuous search for exceptional vintages, the Masterpiece Collection by Cyril Camus is ‘a relentless revelation of taste and pleasure”. The blend of Grande Champagne, Petite Champagne and Bon Bois cognacs are presented in a Baccarat crystal decanter designed by French sculptor, Serge Mansau. This in turn nests inside a wooden case enrobed in the finest, hand stitched Italian leather, and the decanter itself is sealed with a delicate leather lace and finished off with a 24 carat gold clover leaf. Cuvee 3.140 contains a blend of 65-year guaranteed minimum age Grande Champagne – elegant, with rounded tannins, racy, full and balanced style; 39-year guaranteed minimum age Petite Champagne – soft, generous and light, imbuing the Grande Champagne with subtlety so that each develops its own notes of fruit, toast, cedar and almonds; and 36-year guaranteed minimum age Bons Bois, providing a superb balance between strength and finesse. Excellent balance on the nose with a rare, complex vibrancy and aromatic notes of prunes, citrus fruits and delicate wood undertones. On the palate, a combination of wood and coffee is said to provide an excellent contrast between the character of the wood and freshness. The finish is long and warm with a lingering memory of dried fruit, spice, wood, flowers – jasmine in particular – and a hint of lemon. 1 bottle available only: No674/950

Region Information:

Deeply attached to their Cognac land, the five generations of Camus family have succeeded Since 1863 in faithfully preserving the brand’s original values. This process of handing down from father to son now ensures the continuity and development of a unique expertise, with the cornerstones remaining the soil, the vine and the grape.

As well as a love and respect for the fruit of the land, the Camus culture is based on innovation and the quest for exceptional aromatic qualities – for above and beyond their role as businessmen the Camus’s see themselves as winegrowers, explorers and passionate lovers of taste.

Laid across 180 hectares in the smallest and rarest AOC cru - the Borderies - the Camus family has always been deeply involved in winemaking and distilling. It is this unbreakable bond between the land, the traditions and the people who live on it that helps them craft superb Cognacs. Today, it is Cyril Camus who is the bearer of all family tradition and oversees the undisputed quality of Camus Cognac. Export development and product development remain at the top, with a passion for innovation. Cyril Camus has entirely modernized the Cognac house’s interiors, relying on a fresh new take on Cognac for the new century.
