For the past 500 years the Borderies vineyards, Cognac’s smallest cru, have produced some of the greatest and most aromatic cognacs. Camus Borderies XO is a Single-Estate cognac produced exclusively from the Camus family’s private vineyards. All the wines come from this magnificent estate, the largest in the Borderies area, with vineyards surrounded by forests and naturally preserved areas. The Camus family ensures that the vineyards are cultivated in a sustainable way, preserving the environment and the wildlife. Each barrel is unique with wines from each parcel of the vineyards being distilled and aged in separate casks. The eaux-de-vie used to make Camus Borderies XO Cognac have an astounding aromatic intensity and a remarkable velvety texture. Produced mainly from the most prized vines in the Domaine’s Camus estate, the wine is distilled on the lees before its long ageing in oak barrels. Each step in the ageing process has contributed to and enhanced the already rich and complex aromatic palette of this Cognac from the smallest and most highly favored of the AOC crus. Produced in limited quantities, Camus Borderies XO offers a rare and exquisite tasting experience. Borderies XO is powerful, rich and creamy with a particularly velvety texture. It reveals intense sweet pastry aromas alongside notes of cinnamon, dried fruit, old port and violet. A hint of almond emerges in the long-lasting finish.

Deeply attached to their Cognac land, the five generations of Camus family have succeeded Since 1863 in faithfully preserving the brand’s original values. This process of handing down from father to son now ensures the continuity and development of a unique expertise, with the cornerstones remaining the soil, the vine and the grape.

As well as a love and respect for the fruit of the land, the Camus culture is based on innovation and the quest for exceptional aromatic qualities – for above and beyond their role as businessmen the Camus’s see themselves as winegrowers, explorers and passionate lovers of taste.

Laid across 180 hectares in the smallest and rarest AOC cru - the Borderies - the Camus family has always been deeply involved in winemaking and distilling. It is this unbreakable bond between the land, the traditions and the people who live on it that helps them craft superb Cognacs. Today, it is Cyril Camus who is the bearer of all family tradition and oversees the undisputed quality of Camus Cognac. Export development and product development remain at the top, with a passion for innovation. Cyril Camus has entirely modernized the Cognac house’s interiors, relying on a fresh new take on Cognac for the new century.
