Chateau Roubine ‘Premium’ is crafted solely with estate-owned grapes, coming from the vineyard surrounding the Chateau, and classified, since 1955 as ‘Provence Premier Cru Classe’ – one of the 18 estates only in the prestigious appellation, and the only of those estates being certified biodynamic. The vines are certified biodynamic by the ‘Demeter’ organization which means aside avoiding chemicals, we support our vines to be self-sufficient and stronger in the long run.   This delicious fine and delicate Côtes de Provence Rose is made mainly from local Provençal grapes like Grenache & Tibouren, together with some Cinsault, Carignan and Mourvedre. The grapes are harvested at night and taken to their state-of-the-art winery where the fermentation and maturation take place in stainless steel tanks. This wine is made carefully and with great precision and this is reflected in the end-product – which has that elegant, dry sweetness so sought after with top class rose.   This is a beautiful rose with pale fruit, fresh and balanced. The fruit is crunchy on the nose (clementine). Intense freshness and great aromatic elegance in this blend – a wine of gluttony and pleasure. At the same time mineral, lively, complex, and elegant. Dating back to the 14th century, Chateau Roubine was owned by the Order of the Knights of Templars before being ceded to the order of Saint John of Jerusalem. In the 15th century, Chateau Roubine became the prerogative and pride of various great Provencal families. The ancient Roman road known as Julienne ran through this place and crossed the current vineyards, giving the Chateau a unique placement. Chateau Roubine was inherited by Henri de Rohan Chabot, who rented it to the Ott family in 1923. It finally gained a stable owner in 1994 after Valérie Rousselle purchased it, turning a new page in its history.

Chateau Roubine’s vineyard, bordered by a cirque of pines and oaks, is located in the heart of the Var between Verdon and the Mediterranean. It houses thirteen grape varieties and offers the conditions favoured to produce high-quality wines. “Roubine” in Provençal means stream, a credit to the east/west orientation of the land and the clay-limestone soil of the area.

In 1955, Chateau Roubine was one of the 23 wineries recognized by decree as “Cru Classé” of the Côtes de Provence. Today, the estate spans 130 hectares, including 72 hectares of vines, and excels through an optimal combination of advanced technology and strict adherence to sustainable agriculture rules.

The wine-making practices at the Chateau are designed to respect nature at every turn. This environmental approach, which is present at every stage of production, respects nature and its balance. Since 2017, Chateau Roubine has been certified as fully organic, and certified Biodynamic since 2020. Throughout the seasons a steady stream of visitors is present in the vineyards discovering the vines and the essential gestures and climatic contrasts that offer the qualities of a true terroir.
