Clase Azul ‘Anejo’ Tequila

Clase Azul Tequila Anejo is proof that the best things in life take time. Its taste and decanter are a tribute to the Mazahua indigenous culture. Clase Azul Anejo Tequila combines art, history, and tequila of the highest quality, making it an expression that truly honors Mexican culture.
Made from organic Tequilana Weber Blue Agaves which are grown for over 9 years before slow cooking in traditional ovens. The fermentation is done using the company’s secret blend of yeasts, and then comes distillation followed by triple filtration. Its intense amber color and complex aromas result from a magnificent 25-month journey in American whiskey casks.
Amber color, with copper highlights. Great body, with aromas of toffee, cinnamon, clove, roasted hazelnut, Mexican vanilla, orange marmalade, quince, and toasted oak. On the palate, it brings nutmeg, clove, orange marmalade, and toasted oak with a silky mouthfeel. Pair with rich cuts of meats (ribeye, picanha, duck breast, or beef ribs) accompanied by a robust sauce (veloute, meat gravy, or mole). Semi-mature cheeses (brie and camembert) accompanied with bread and red berry compote.
The Decanter: Its external beauty tells the story of its origin. At the bottom, the spirals super imposed on the raw clay symbolize the earth’s fertility. The thin blue line is representative of the water which gives life to the agave. In the center, the pina symbolizes the heart and soul of tequila. On the back, the four-petaled flower is the traditional Mazahua representation of the Sun and its fullness in the center of space and time. Lastly, it features the delicate, and distinctive feathered design of the Clase Azul family in 24K gold paint.

Welcome to the world of Clase Azul. A unique tequila made with the heart and soul of our community of Mexican artisans. From our fertile and spectacular mountains to our artisans’ millennial legacy, each decanter of Clase Azul is an artistic tribute to our roots.

Clase Azul Tequila is 100% made from Blue Agave, produced at one of the highest points in the state of Jalisco. Its climate and land properties offer a characteristic tequila flavor. Each of our agaves is grown for 6 to 8 years.

Organic agave requires approximately 72 hours of cooking in old masonry ovens. The baking gives the agave core a unique sweetness – easily perceived by the complexity of aroma and flavors. The agave core is ground to extract all the juices and begin the fermentation process, induced by our proprietary yeast. After several days, the tequila is distilled two times, having a wide cut of “heads” and “tails” to ensure our tequila is of the highest quality.

Each Clase Azul Tequila decanter is handmade, and hand-painted by our artisans in the small Mexican town of Santa María Canchesda. About 350 of our skilled workers sculpt and paint them individually, using the Mazahua people’s ancient techniques. Each ceramic decanter is a one-of-a-kind piece of art that contains our ancestors’ art and their millenary legacy.
