Famille Perrin ‘La Gille’ Gigondas
RM242.0
The Gigondas ‘La Gille’ is a blend of 60% of Grenache from dominantly sandy soil plots and 40% of Syrah. Located mid-hill, the Famille Perrin vineyard is amongst the most historical vineyards in Gigondas. It benefits from a flow of cold air which blows through the valley situated to the west of the village. The vinification is traditional: light crushing and long maceration for 15 to 20 days. The ageing takes place in oak foudres & barrels for about 12 months.
Beautiful limpid ruby-red colour. The delicate nose of this wine is typical of Gigondas with aromas of pepper, liquorice and violet. On the palate, it offers a silky texture, very soft with delicate tannins and superb notes of small black fruit. Drink it over the coming decade.
