This superbly elegant and stylish blend of Chardonnay and Pinot Bianco comes from one of Tuscany’s greatest white-wine growing areas, grown in vineyards at elevations as high as 700 metres. To the nose it is intensely flowery with frangipani and jasmine aromas mixed with the fruity notes of apricot and quince. In the glass, the wine also releases exotic scents of tropical fruit and fresh cardamom. When tasted, Pomino Bianco is flavourful and lively, with a balanced structure and persistent finish with a slight aftertaste of ripe raspberries. The history of the Frescobaldi family starts over a thousand years ago and is closely connected with the history of Tuscany, with the wine involvement dating back to at least 1308. At the high point of medieval Florence, the Frescobaldi's spread their influence as bankers, earning the title of treasures to the English crown. Today, they intend for the different family estates, with their vineyards, to be the expression of this diversity and for the wines to reflect each individual terroir, respecting their nature and authenticity. They own 11 estates in Tuscany, all running independently. That includes Ornellaia & Masseto, 2 of the most revered Super-Tuscan wines.
