The name says it all at Laphroaig FOUR OAK; four different types of barrel are used – Ex-Bourbon Barrels, Quarter Casks, Virgin American Oak Barrels, and European Oak Hogsheads give this single malt Scotch whisky its exceptional peaty and smoky aroma. The aroma of Four Oak is malty, smoky and warm, with sweet notes of stewed fruit and vanilla. The taste is extremely maritime, with notes of seaweed, various woods and buttercream. The mouthfeel is soft and silky. The finish is medium long, with spicy and woody notes, liquorice, smoke and salt. With an alcohol content of 40% by volume, this whisky is predestined for pure enjoyment. Alternatively, it can be drunk classically ‘On The Rocks’.
