Vanuto is the most prestigious of our single vineyards and gave us its first wines in 1960. It lies between 300 and 350 meters above sea level and faces completely south. It is on the border of all three municipalities of the Barbaresco production area, and forms part of the enclosure of one of the most beautiful valleys in the region.  The grapes for this wine ferment with temperature control; the wine ages for 20 to 22 months in barriques (80% new), followed by nine months in bottle before release. It matches its intensity with focus, revealing its kaleidoscopic notes with precision and power. Fistfuls of rose petals, lots of minerals, a touch of leather, and a dusting of spices, licorice, espresso and underbrush frame this wine’s black and red fruits, combining to create a perfume that promises an exciting palate, and this wine does not disappoint! Vibrant acidity animates this concentrated Barbaresco that matches its dry extract with chewy tannins, fine minerality, and a gorgeous structure.   Robert Parker: 94Pts; Wine Spectator: 91Pts

The Pelissero family DNA has always been firmly rooted in the timeless traditions of the Langhe farmer. The Estate is located in Treiso, an independent municipality since 1957, in the heart of the Barbaresco region - one of the first Italian DOCGs. Barbaresco is inseparable from the Nebbiolo variety that more than any other defines the history of our hills, known as the ‘king’ of grapes.

The family’s spirit of continuous improvement, in the vineyard and the cellar, coupled with their passion, commitment and innovation always remain constant. Currently run by the 3rd generation of the family, their philosophy has not changed since 1957: They cultivate primarily native varieties (mainly Nebbiolo, Barbera and Dolcetto) with all grapes come solely from the 42 hectares that fully they own and manage, in order to craft wines with a very high purity and elegance.
