Plymouth Sloe Gin is a quintessentially English drink – the origins of which have been lost in time. Although sloe berries grow all over Europe and many countries have their own version, it is the English style that is the most famous. Clear character of mellow sloe berries, fruity with notes of sweet cherry and a slight scent of almonds. Smooth, fruity and full bodied, with a balanced sweetness and acidity. Long finish, fresh and fruity.
Plymouth Gin is the oldest working gin distillery in England, using the same recipe since 1793. For this product, sloe berries are added to the classic Plymouth Gin, added dark color, sweetness, and lowering the alcohol level.

Description
Plymouth Gin is the oldest working gin distillery in England, using the same recipe since 1793. The Black Friar’s building, where the distillery is, dates back to the early 1400s. The most intact part of the distillery is the Refectory Room, a medieval hall with a fine hull-shaped timber roof built in 1431. It’s one of the oldest buildings in Plymouth, and protected as a precious national monument. Not least because it’s now also an important centre of excellence for gin cocktail making. Blackfriars Distillery is also 100% powered by hydroelectricity and in addition Botanical waste is converted to Methane and used as a form of sustainable energy.
