Tenuta Frescobaldi di Castiglioni

The Castiglioni estate has been the emblem of the Frescobaldi family’s wine-growing tradition since 1300. The production of wines linked to the region of Tuscany, enjoyed by the papal court and the English court of Henry VIII in the 16th century, began here. The rich Super-Tuscan Tenuta Frescobaldi di Castiglioni, this estate’s iconic wine, is clearly in a modern key, but holds fast to the qualities of its local terroir. Tenuta Frescobaldi di Castiglioni beautiful, bright ruby-red colour with tinges of purple. The nose reveals fruity notes of cherry, blackberry, blueberry and mulberry. Equally marvellous are the spiced notes of cinnamon and star anise and light hints of black pepper. More general tertiary and toasted notes then emerge. It is soft and enveloping on the palate.
